VT Creative Schools Initiative

Over the Summer, the Vermont Creative Schools Initiative was launched–a state-wide program coordinated by the Community Engagement Lab that builds school and community partnerships, infusing creative projects into the core curriculum. During a week-long intensive, I had the wonderful opportunity to work with over 30 classroom teachers, teaching artists and CEL staff, as well as artist-in-residence, Evelyn Glennie–world-renowned solo percussionist. School residencies will take place over the next few months, followed by Evelyn’s return in April 2016 for special concert events with the CEL Festival Orchestra in four communities.
