River of Light in Waterbury 2016, no:7
On December 3rd 2016, Waterbury saw its 7th River of Light Lantern Parade. With a theme of ‘Everything Botanical: Wild Vegetation and Fantastical Flora!” the streets were filled with a visual feast of plants, flowers and shrubs, and Waterbury attracted over 3000 lantern-makers, walkers and spectators. A school residency at Thatcher Brook Primary School enabled over 150 3rd and 4th graders to make individual flower-pot lanterns and people brought home-made creations from far and wide. Workshops were held in Waterbury for community members and professional artists.
