In this body of work, I am exploring our understanding of a sense of place. For centuries, we have been attempting to map, chart and document our environment to better understand our planet and define geographic and cultural identities.
Our endeavors to comprehend the unique spatial relationships that we have to the land and to one another have led us to create boundaries—some of these walls exist on paper only, others are physical—some partitions are unspoken and many are invisible.

I am curious about our desire to create these divisions—geographical, physical, territorial and personal. From the bottom of the ocean to the stars in the solar system, we continue to redefine our ecological landscape; all this in a world which is in perpetual flux as a result of geologic process and the passage of time. I am interested in how these shifting boundaries shape and change our relationship with the world around us and the lessons learnt from our physical mark-making.
